DIG IN FOR NATIONAL TREE DAY!
It might be cold and wet outside as winter well and truly sets in, but don’t let that dampen your spirit for National Tree Day which takes place on Sunday 26 July!
With thousands of sites around the country, National Tree Day encourages everyone from schools and families to individuals and friends to get into the garden or the great outdoors and reconnect with nature for the future of our environment.
Last year over 300,000 people planted over 1.4million native trees, grasses, shrubs and edible plants, with an estimated $5.6m in volunteer labour dedicated to the cause.
This year, local Truganina residents can do their bit at Skeleton Creek near Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing, where Wyndham City Council is running a local National Tree Day site.
So rug up and get your hands dirty for a great cause – bring the whole family to plant a tree and learn about how trees and greenery helps to protect the environment.
Better still, there will be a FREE hot lunch for everyone who attends.
Date: Sunday 26 July
Time: 10am – 12pm
Where: Skeleton Creek, parking off Elm Park Drive
